Liz Menezes is a singer songwriter that began her musical career at the age of ten. Her training as a writer began at an early age, when she began writing poetry which later would take life with melodies eventually becoming songs.
In her music you will not find your typical love story, being that she defines her sound as fresh and innovative, presenting them as a storybook of song.
Liz has been influenced greatly by the Brazilian culture during her stay there for several years, she had the opportunity to record American standards in Bossa Nova in Rio de Janeiro.
In 2007 two of her renditions of such Beatles classics,“For No One” and “Nowhere Man” included in the compilation BEATLES IN BOSSA went 1 in I-tunes Japan.
In 2008 Liz was voted into first place by her fans in the Latin category on the online competition FAMECAST with her song "Medidas".
In 2009, Liz was acknowledged by the press appearing in People Espanol, Boom Magazine, Pies Derecho, New York Al Dia, Juniors' Cave Online Magazine to name a few and she preformed at the world known BB Kings in NYC.
2010 brought Liz Menezes more attendtion, she was awarded honorable mention by Billboard as a lyricist and interpreter for her song "Tengo" in the Latin catergory.
Her fan base has continued to grow with fans in Argentina, Peru, Spain and, Colombia and many more. Official Website
Fusing rock, pop and electronic noise, that is how Momposonica started. The name Momposonica pays tribute to the bands cultural and nostalgic connection to their homeland, Colombia as well as to the work of Afro-Colombian singer and cultural preservationist Totó la Momposina. Momposina is all about rockin' out!.
When the singer Carolina Craig collaborated with Felipe, David & Mauricio on some songs in spring 2009, Momposonica's line up was completed and set the stage for their second album "Sistema de Cambio" (english: System of Change).
Now they are releasing a new LP :"Juno" with four unreleased songs, full of melodic reefs, electronic sounds and their characteristic organic pop.
American Jettison is a New York based up and coming rock band that was formed by singer-songwriter Christian Nunez. In early 2009, he started the Chris Nunez Band, where he and his four fellow bandmates played numerous shows at venues such as The Bitter End and Arlene's Grocery. In Spring 2011, the band changed its name to American Jettison and their original local fan base has happily gone along for the ride.
Some of the band's musical influences include Bob Marley, Rage Against the Machine, and Foo Fighters. Official Website
