Multi-talented singer-songwriter, MORLEY brings her trio to DROM for the APAP conference with world renowned percussionist, Daniel Sadownick opening the night with his band.

“Morley expertly combines an earthiness, sensuality, etherealness, intelligence and social consciousness, and melds it into sophisticated, globally-minded pop that would easily fit into your playlist amidst Sade, Joni Mitchell, Amadou & Mariam, Annie Lennox and Marvin Gaye” - Bill Bragin
“The music of Morley… love, kindness and hope at every bend.”
- Daniel Lanois

Morley has performed all over the world and has opened for Amadou et Mariam, Raul Midon, Dave Mathews, Richie Havens and Michael Franks to name a few. She has presented at TEDWomen and a string of TEDx events, her song “Women of Hope” (video by Damani Baker - "Still Bill") has been featured in several documentaries and has brought her before many world leaders and policy makers. She has performed for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Ban Ki-moon, Mary Robinson, and Ela Gandhi. She has also written, collaborated, and shared the stage with renowned artists such as Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon, Toshi Reagon, Raul Midón, Sheryl Crow, Queen Latifah, Angélique Kidjo, Sarah McLachlan, Wynton Marsalis and Cassandra Wilson.

Undivided (released world wide spring 2012) is the latest collection of songs from this captivating performer. The thirteen songs on this self-produced album reflect a vulnerable journey of love, loss, and the willingness to begin again, with instrumental and vocal contributions by a stellar cast of musicians including Joan Wasser/Joan As Police Woman, Raul Midon, Dave Eggar and the legendary David Amram. Morley sees her music as an extension of her experience as a teacher in a variety of communities, from public high schools to community centers to ex-offenders. A major focus for her has been working with young people from international conflict zones on conflict resolution and workshops on self-expression in high schools and colleges.Morleys previous recording, Seen, came out on Universal/Polydor. Prior to that, the Days Like These CD was released independently before being picked up by Universal. Morleys debut, Sun Machine, was released on Sony/WORK, and songs from that album were featured on several television programs. Morleys voice was heard all over the world as the soundtrack for the Ralph Lauren Fragrance “My Romance”.

Bronx native Daniel Sadownick has been voted in the Downbeat Critics' Poll for five consecutive years as a "Rising Star".  He also won a SESAC award for having his CD "There Will Be A Day" being one of the most played albums on jazz radio in the entire country.

As a sideman he recently recorded with Beyonce for her latest 2011 release and just finished a 7-month tour with Taylor Swift.  His discography includes diverse greats such as Michael Brecker, Dennis Chambers, Nicholas Payton, Christian McBride, Al Green, Al Jarreau, Pat Martino, The Screaming Headless Torsos, The Roots, Steely Dan and many others.

His recent CD entitled "There Will Be A Day" features all original compositions as well as showcasing the utilization of percussion in a "straight-ahead jazz context." Daniel feels that percussion in jazz at this present stage seems to be limited to a certain style that does not included all the possibilities of the instruments. "I want to include all my influences when I play jazz. That runs the gamut from the Art Ensemble of Chicago to Joe Zawinul; from Cannonball Adderley to Frank Zappa. These musicians were torchbearers and pioneers. "I hope that my contributions make a statement that is parallel to these exceptional artists. They were consistent in their commitment to bring passion, intensity, and soul to their music.".
