Giant Step & Revive Da Live Present the Fourth Installment of CHURCH with Mark de Clive-Lowe: A Two-set Affair: From the Jazz Trio Reimagined to Live Electronic House Music for the Dancefloor

Last month was packed and we look forward to another amazing experience with Mark de Clive-Lowe (MdCL) starting up with his jazz trio followed by the second set where he creates live and electronic house music before your eyes. World-renowned DJ, Producer, Remixer, Composer, Musician, and Tru Thoughts recording artist MdCL will be joined by Nate Smith (José James/Dave Holland) on Drums and Matt Penman (Joshua Redman/SF Jazz Collective) on bass, with special guest nia andrews on vocals and DJ Raydar.

Mark de Clive-Lowe continues to build on the success of his new CHURCH monthly series in New York at DROM. CHURCH is a whirlwind mix of live jazz, sampling and a DJ set. Fast becoming the discerning music-lovers’ and musicians’ event of choice, don’t be surprised if you spot the likes of Masters at Work’s Louie Vega or soul legend Leon Ware in the audience; Chris “Daddy” Dave, MC John Robinson or Miguel Atwood-Ferguson on the stage and the likes of Ge-ology on the decks. The first live set showcases the jazz side of MdCL, blending standards, groove explorations and classic trio interplay with resampling, electronics and live remixing. As the first set draws to a close, the guest DJ takes over the soundtrack while the tables and chairs are cleared away ready for MdCL to flip the script with the second set—a unique blend of live electronica and live remixing—the jazz club colliding head to head with the dance floor.
