Matt Siffert
is a New York-based composer, songwriter, and bassist. He is committed to these duties as individual crafts, as well as exploring the connections between all three. On April 5th, he will premiere his new ensemble -- featuring himself on voice and bass, alongside piano, drums, French horn, and cello.
As a composer, Siffert has premiered music at Juilliard and Steinway Hall, as well as internationally in Cuba and Croatia. He has worked with groups such as the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE).

As a songwriter, he has been a finalist in the BMI John Lennon Scholarship for Songwriting, a fellow at the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Workshop at Northwestern University, a student at the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and a member of the Singer-Songwriters Sessions at The Bitter End.
As a bassist, he has performed in various places and capacities, from the legendary rock club CBGB’s in New York to the Siena Jazz Festival in Italy. He has performed with renowned musicians such as Jean-Michel Pilc.

Siffert grew up in New York City. He received his undergraduate degree in music and psychology from Carnegie Mellon, where he graduated cum laude and as a Carnegie Scholar.
