An Early Show  with Julie Eigenberg and Yaron Gershovsky 
 
Julie and Gershovsky collaborate for a special  show  with some great Jazz classics along with original songs from Julie's recordings. She co- wrote "Why Not!", and Gershovsky did the arrangement, for which the Manhattan Transfer won the 1983 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal of  a Group on Atlantic Records. Together with Conrad Korsch on bass,  they bring to you Julie's soulful interpretations, with some swinging fun and jamming original songs from "Love is Starting Now" .

Julie Eigenberg, began her singing career in NYC, performing with such greats as George Duvivier, Vicki Sue Robinson, Moogy Klingman, the Brecker Bros., Leon Pendarvis , Anthony Jackson, and Will Lee, to name just a few.
 
Julie co-wrote the song, "Why Not!" with Michel Camilo, and the Manhattan Transfer won the1983 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal of a Group with their Atlantic recording of "Why Not".
 
She went on to record her album,"Love is Starting Now", produced by David Spinozza. Julie is a soulful interpreter of classic Jazz standards and her own pop/Latin influenced genre.  Her songs come from the heart and she sings with a confidence and style that has captured fans from around the world.

Yaron Gershovsky: Piano



Yaron Gershovsky is widely recognized as an accomplished musician, whose long list of credits demonstrates versatility and excellence as a Pianist/Keyboardist, Arranger, Composer and Producer.
       
Yaron Gershovsky is widely recognized as an accomplished musician, whose long list of credits demonstrates versatility and excellence as a Pianist/Keyboardist, Arranger, Composer and Producer.
        
A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Yaron has been, and still is the Musical Director and Pianist/Keyboardist for the world renowned vocal group The Manhattan Transfer. He has toured with them world wide, and has recorded and arranged for them both vocally and instrumentally. Among his arrangements for The Manhattan Transfer is the Grammy award winning song “Why Not”. On their last CD “Vibrate” he is featured both as a pianist and as an arranger.

Yaron wrote two vocal arrangements for the group’s latest Christmas A Capella CD, (one of them in collaboration with Janis Siegel). 
The Manhattan Transfer's CD, "The Symphony Sessions" features Yaron on the piano, as well as his big band arrangement for: "All Heart", dedicated to Ella Fitzgerald. 
        
Yaron has recorded with such great artists as The Manhattan Transfer, Wayne Shorter, Lonnie Smith, Steve Gadd, Abraham Laboriel, Lew Soloff, Lou Marini, Janis Siegel, Ray Brown, Grady Tate, Don Sebesky, and the Count Basie Orchestra. He performed with such artists as Richie Havens, Pharaoh Sanders, Stan Getz, Louie Belson, the Count Basie Orchestra and The Manhattan Transfer among others.


Conrad Korsch: Bass



Conrad Korsch is a New York City based acoustic and electric bassist/multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and educator. Born and raised in Philadelphia until age 22, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Bass Performance from Temple University, where he attended on scholarship and graduated Magna Cum Laude and with other honors. He has appeared on nearly every broadcast TV show which features live music, playing bass with Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Andrea Bocelli, Bette Midler, Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, Natalie Cole, Clay Aiken, Deborah Gibson, the Broadway show Swing!, the annual Jerry Lewis/MDA Telethon's New York house band, The Emeril Lagasse Show house band, as a substitute in the Saturday Night Live house band, and many others. He can also be seen in several major motion pictures and DVDs, and has been featured in BASS PLAYER, BASS GUITAR, GIG and NEW YORK magazines, the book "The Working Bassist: What You Really Need To Know To Survive In New York City", and various online interviews. Having worked with such world class producers as Phil Ramone, Richard Perry, Steven Epstein (on the Grammy nominated "Swing!" Broadway Cast Album), John Leventhal, Billy Mann, and David Torn, he has acquired a long list of recording credits including Rod Stewart, Joan Osborne, Madeleine Peyroux, Rosanne Cash, Carole King, Marc Cohn, Gavin DeGraw, Daryl Hall & John Oates, and many others, along with countless TV and radio jingles. A versatile "doubler" on acoustic and electric bass, his performance credits range from jazz vocal group Manhattan Transfer to singer-songwriter Christopher Cross, Lincoln Center's "Brazilfest" to David Krakauer's "Klezmer Madness", Tony Award winning Broadway shows to Motown's The Fifth Dimension, and he appears frequently with the "Birdland Big Band" at the renowned namesake NYC jazz club.
