Join us on Tuesday November 13th, 2012 @ NYC’s Drom Nightclub for the long-anticipated debut EP release ‘The Prelude’ from celebrated soul violinist and vocalist Charisa the ViolinDiva. Doors open @ 9pm. Join the ViolinDiva and her incredible band as they celebrate this album's release as well as the birthday of the Diva herself. This extravaganza will be an all pink-affair so audience members are encouraged to add that pop of color to their ensemble for the evening! As an added treat for the night, patrons will mix and mingle to an opening DJ set by a special guest TBA.
About Charisa The ViolinDiva
Since taking on soul jazz, Charisa has collaborated with some dynamic artists across the musical borders, including Wynton Marsalis, Savion Glover, Musiq SoulChild, Common, Diana Krall, Terence Blanchard, Quincy Jones and Mos Def, to name a few. As an opening act, she has performed ahead of Melissa Morgan, and Freddie Jackson. And in the summer of 2011, Charisa won grand prizes in both the McDonald’s Gospelfest Competition in Newark and the West Oak Lane Jazz Festival Competition in Philadelphia, as well as semi-finalist place in the Apollo Competition, performing in front of thousands. Her other festival performances include the Baltimore African American Heritage Festival in MD, the Newark New Sounds Summer Music Series, Lincoln Park Music Festival in Newark, NJ, the NYC Fall for Dance Festival in New York in collaboration with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, and many more cultural festivals around the world.
