Broken Soles (7PM)

A student at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, Sean Carroll may hail from New York, but his down-home sound might cause you to believe he's straight out of the foothills of Kentucky. A raw blues aesthetic and a knack for getting raunchy in all the right ways are two firm tools in Sean's belt, and he uses both liberally with his band, Broken Soles. He'll hit you hard up front but go down smooth, and you'll feel all the better for it.d up front but go down smooth, and you'll feel all the better for it.

Beat The Grid (8PM)

BEAT THE GRID has been charging from the land of waterfalls since 2009. Each song is a commentary on the human experience and the mysteries of life, seamed by silky-sexy, siren-like vocals. Piecing a modern mosaic of pop and hip-hop beats, syncopated South American rhythms, driving West African percussion & guitar, and European synth sensations, the band creates an ethereal collage of funk-infused, afrobeat, & psychedelic rock - as "if Parliament Funkadelic, Fiona Apple, and St. Vincent threw a party" - in an otherworldly cosmic lounge.
Since inception, Beat the Grid has played around NY with groups such as Rubblebucket, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Cuddle Magic, and members of John Brown's Body. The 1st album Beat the Grid (Mar 2013) earned praise for 2 years in the Ithaca Journal Music Awards, on the Bandcamp.com homepage (Aug '13), and in the debut Independent Music News Magazine (UK). Having spent the last couple years in Brooklyn, Beat the Grid has begun recording their 2nd album to capture the power of the ever-churning currents.

Mad Satta (10PM)

Mad Satta is coming up through the ranks and carving a place for themselves in today's world by bringing passionate, forward-thinking new school soul back into the airwaves. This ultra-tight eight-piece outfit concocts lush neo-soul awash in electric organs, bright horns, and deep bass-line grooves.

Frontwoman Joanna Teters, increasingly known for her powerful voice and relaxed presence turns heads with her ability to switch effortlessly from a smooth-but-smokey lilt into a rugged reggae delivery. She is joined by bass player Ben Carr, keyboardist Kevin Theodore (Ever Forthright, Soul Understated), guitarist Ted Morcaldi and multi-instrumentalist and drummer Zane West. In June of 2012, by adding Collin Wade on alto sax, Eric Zeiser on trumpet and Jason Fitch on tenor sax, Mad Satta took their sound to the next level. They have since shared the stage with some notable musicians and musical acts— Ozomatli, Afrika Bambaataa, Gabriel Garzon-Montano and The Stepkids to name a few, and continue to appear all over the east coast.

Mad Satta's highly anticipated debut album "Comfort" is set for a summer 2014 release, produced by triple Grammy-winner Prince Charles Alexander.
