The Party:

In the past 15 years TOTH took their beats from parking garages, lofts & boats to residencies at renowned NY clubs and venues. The parties now move & groove city to city, river to river, with events on the NILE (Cairo), las RAMBLAS (Barcelona), the CARIBBEAN (Tulum) & on occasion on the DANUBE (Budapest)

The Music :

TOTH's music policy has always been for the people on the dance floor. Although the dance floor usually bumps at 120+ BPM's, one can easily hear home-born genres like hip-hop, funk, house and soul played back to back with Latin, Afrobeat and Eastern European sounds. In addition to hosting live guests in the past including Brazilian Girls, Antibalas, Quantic y Su Combo and The Pimps of Joytime, the crew has also fused live musicianship into their sets. The heavy percussive element has been highlighted with West African percussion ensembles, live samba batucada bands and New Orleans & Eastern Brass bands. DJs that joined them on deck over the past decade including Bonobo, Osunlade, Louie Vega, DJ Spinna, Rich Medina, DJ Smash, Mr. Scruff, Rainer Truby, Peter Kruder, Quantic, Mark Rae, among hundreds of others from around the World.

Turntables on the Hudson has 10 volumes of music that were made by members of the crew and from friends in NY and abroad. Artists such as Zeb, Nickodemus, Nappy G, Quantic, Candela Allstars, Raeo, Sabo, Jay Rogriguez and Groove Collective are frequent contributors to the TOTH sound.

The Network:

The TOTH movement during the years went worldwide with Turntables on the Ipanema, Siene, Ramblas, South Beach, Gulf, Nile, the Thames, and finally on the Danube. With the support of Balassi Institute, Hungarian House NY, the connection of Hungary and New York takes an other phase. Hungarian designer and DJ Marton Bodoo has been working for New York based label Wonderwheel Recordings, (connection with DJ Shuriken) with Nickodemus in charge the networking space has created the possibility to show the world what this cooperation can do.
