Max Pollak is a visionary force within the tap community, a true master of his craft. He is recognized worldwide as the first person to merge Afro-Cuban music and dance with American tap and body percussion. RumbaTap is the highly-stylized result of intermingling these dynamic genres. Featuring three Latin musicians and two tap-dancer/singer/beat boxers, the ensemble pairs the fire and passion of Afro-Cuban rhythms and movements with the energy and precision of tap. The results are sizzling stage shows and a ground breaking CD recording that have earned countless accolades. Even if you can't chew gum while walking, you'll want to get up and move your body after seeing and hearing Max Pollak's RumbaTapThe group has performed in the US, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Cuba, Turkey, France, Germany, Austria, and Finland.

But it was left to Max Pollak and his small Afro-Cuban group, RumbaTap, to bring everything together. Tap as music, rhythms that harmonize: here the program’s ideas became art. On a hot day it was like a mojito, going down easy with a kick of rum. – NY Times, July 15, 2012

Mr. Pollak, an Austrian who mastered American tap in New York, then altered it by falling in love with Cuba. – NY Times, July 12, 2013
