After almost three years plugging away on Zoom, The Current is so happy and proud to be BACK on the live-
performance map! We’re brimming with excitement, and more than ready to sing for you in celebration of 12 fun
and successful years (and counting!) on the NYC a cappella scene.
We're returning to DROM, one of our favorite venues in New York, reinvigorated with a whole bunch of new
music and new voices – and we’re finally bringing back our biggest show of year in a big way.
As a bonus, alongside an afternoon of full-hearted fam vibes and contemporary tunes, we’re thrilled to welcome
our friend and comedian Nat Towsen (The Tonight Show, Nickelodeon, Esquire, The Onion) as our guest host for
some extra good times.
We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be one of our best shows yet.
THE CURRENT: Aïssa Guindo, Alvic Plan, Anna Fondiller, Arin Sang-Urai, Brielle Brook, Calvin Baker, Daniel Colletti,
Eric Yang, Fiora Elbers-Tibbitts, Jake Samuels, Juliet Samuels, Justin Sorice, Kevin DeLisa, Larissa Jaye, Rob McNeil,
Sam Linden, Sean Costello, Tia Torres

Founded in January 2011, The Current is an 18-strong group of a cappella-philes – mostly college group alums –
with 12 years and counting on the NYC scene. A proud Contemporary A Cappella League (CAL) group, with a past
Harmony Sweepstakes win for “Best Original Song," the group spans a diverse array of day jobs, ages, and other
demographics, though what we loved most about our former groups has been where we’ve always strived to
start and end: a solid sonic blend, with some A-major value placed on camaraderie in the process – plus as much
stage action as we can stir up.
To date, we've headlined sold-out shows at top local joints like Rockwood Music Hall, littlefield, The Bitter End,
DROM, and The Triad; brought the house down at private and corporate events from Macy*s to the UN; belted it
out on PBS and behind Aretha Franklin; sung a plethora of blushing brides, grooms, and others down the aisles;
and raised spirits in hospitals, at holiday parties, and as a happy addition to celebrations of all kinds – whether
bringing energetic harmony to school assemblies or charity walks, flash-mobbing a special someone with an
unforgettable wedding proposal or birthday serenade, or collaborating on a client’s own unique vision for
another kind of aca-mazingness.
And since this is NYC, of course we’ve also been known to turn up more spontaneously in hotspots like Times
Square and Central Park, and offer an extra magical bit of Big-Apple joy to tourists and locals alike.
