The Alpacas are a six piece Manhattan based band performing covers from a diverse range of artists including; Elle King, John Mayer, Train, The Eagles, Alanis Morissette, Pink, Crosby, Stills & Nash and many more. The band plays a number of originals as well, with more in the works! What sets The Alpacas apart from other bands are the strong harmonies and vocal abilities that are on display in most songs. Each member of the band sings on most songs, and several members are accomplished a cappella singers! Additionally, most members of the band are versatile and able to play multiple instruments, keeping the sound fresh and lively!
Emma’s Torch is a non-profit social enterprise founded in 2016, providing top-notch culinary training to refugees, asylees and survivors of human trafficking, designed to help them find meaningful careers in the food industry. We run our classes out of our restaurant in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn and our cafe at the Brooklyn Public Library. We provide refugees with culinary training, ESL classes and interview preparation. We set them up for successful employment in an industry in which their cultural heritage and cuisine can be celebrated. What’s more, we provide a community in which they can build supportive relationships. And last but not least, the food at Emma’s Torch is outstanding!
