Originally from Kfar Saba, Israel, bassist and composer Daniel Ori is a prominent young voice in the New York contemporary Jazz scene. An ASCAP composers award winner, Daniel released his debut album, So It Goes, with the Art of Life Jazz label in early 2010. His second album, Emuna, with Blujazz records, will be released in April 2012. The album features a stellar lineup, Mark Turner (sax), Oz Noy (guitar), Sam Barsh (piano) and Ziv Ravitz (drums). In his music, Ori introduces a fresh mix of modern jazz with a World flavor, drawing influences from Middle Eastern, African and Latin roots.

“Have one hand on your equalizer and the other on your heart. Daniel’s music will move you, you will feel this music. In your soul and in your gut…”

“Daniel Ori writes with perspicacity, and in doing so gives his music not only immediacy but a telling impact as well.” All About Jazz
