World-renowned DJ, Producer, Remixer, Composer, Musician, and Tru Thoughts recording artist Mark de Clive-Lowe (MdCL) returns alongside resident vocalist nia andrews (Janelle Monae/Common), James Genus (Chick Corea/Herbie Hancock) on bass, Eric Harland (Joshua Redman/McCoy Tyner) on drums and resident MC John Robinson (Lil Sci/Scienz of Life).

This edition of CHURCH features a special appearance by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson on viola. LA-bred arranger/conductor/multi-instrumentalist Atwood-Ferguson is one of the most renowned orchestrators anywhere, respected for his ability to meld and defy genres, from jazz to classical to hip hop to soul. He is also a virtuoso musician, famous for his recordings of “one-man orchestras” comprised entirely of his own multilayered performances. His unique touch has been featured on recordings by Seu Jorge, Black Eyed Peas, Flying Lotus, Shafiq Husayn and MdCL, to name a few. He is best known for writing, orchestrating and conducting “Suite For Ma Dukes,” a tribute to J Dilla recorded live with a 60 piece orchestra.

Rounding out the lineup is Cosmo Baker, one of the top party-rocking DJs on the planet. Originally from Philadelphia, and now based in Brooklyn, Baker cut his chops alongside Questlove and Rich Medina, developing his gift at mixing a variety of styles from hip hop to soul to disco to funk, bringing it all together seamlessly. He is loved around the world for his ESP ability to know just what song to play that will engage and, of course, move the crowd. Mark de Clive-Lowe continues to build on the success of his new CHURCH monthly series in New York at DROM. Previous installments have featured talented artists such as Rich Medina, Jose James, Jean Grae, N’Dea Davenport and DJ Spinna performing to capacity crowds.
