World-renowned DJ, Producer, Remixer, Composer, Musician, and Tru Thoughts recording artist Mark de Clive-Lowe (MdCL) returns alongside resident vocalist Nia Andrews (Janelle Monae/Common) and resident MC John Robinson (Lil Sci/Scienz of Life), plus Mark Kelley (The Roots) on bass and Gregory Hutchinson (Ravi Coltrane/Joe Henderson).

This edition of CHURCH features a special appearance by Tawiah on vocals.  Hailing from South London, Tawiah has been a featured vocalist and collaborator with Mark Ronson for many years, having performed around the world with his group, The Version Players, as well as on the BBC documentary "Secrets of the Pop Song".  She has also received an award from Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards as the Best Newcomer in 2008.  She and MdCL have performed together many times over the years, including North Sea Jazz Festival, 2012.  Tawiah is also one of the featured vocalists on MdCL's most recent album "Renegades" (Tru Thoughts) on the song "Under Orders".

Rounding out the lineup is OP!  Known in NYC and around the globe as a purveyor of all things soulful, OP! is a talented DJ and tastemaker who can hang on just about any dance floor.  From hip-hop, house and classics to future soul, UK funky and South African house, OP! can finesse them all, adopting musical diversity and focusing it into a beautifully cohesive vibe.  Through his longtime associations with I Love Vinyl, Suite903, Raw Fusion NYC, Haven Loft Party, Okayafrica and Party People South Africa on the DJ side, and Dubspot, Decon, Cornerstone Promotion/The Fader and Studio Distribution/BBE on the industry side, OP! has been instrumental in shining a light on underground and global soul, and continues to champion its relevance on the world stage.

Mark de Clive-Lowe continues to build on the success of his new CHURCH monthly series in New York at DROM. Previous installments have featured talented artists such as Rich Medina, Jose James, Jean Grae, N'Dea Davenport, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Jaleel Shaw and DJ Spinna performing to capacity crowds.

CHURCH is a whirlwind mix of live jazz, sampling and a DJ set. Fast becoming the discerning music-lovers' and musicians' event of choice, don't be surprised if you spot the likes of Master at Work Louie Vega or soul legend Leon Ware in the audience; Chris "Daddy" Dave, Marcus Strickland, James Genus, MC John Robinson or Miguel Atwood-Ferguson on the stage and the likes of The Gaslamp Killer or DJ Spinna on the decks. The first live set showcases the jazz side of MdCL, blending the jazz history, groove explorations and classic trio interplay with resampling, electronics and live remixing. As the first set draws to a close, the guest DJ takes over the soundtrack while the tables and chairs are cleared away for MdCL to flip the script with the second set - a unique blend of live electronica and live remixing - the jazz club colliding head to head with the dance floor.  This month, be prepared for sparks to fly as MdCL goes head-to-head with the highly respected DJ, OP!
