Rooted in the Mediterranean flavors of Flamenco, West Africa and South india, world-percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Nacho Arimany engages the jazz and creative forms of pianist Robert Rodriguez , the great taste and sensitivity of Argentinean saxophonist Julio Botti along with Michael O'Brian's emotive bass lines in a colorful dialogue that brings an authentic approach to today's avant-garde music.

"Jazz and Flamenco may have crossed paths before, but Nacho Arimany brings a fresh approach with ideas that have yet to be discovered" ---- ALL ABOUT JAZZ

"Percussionist, musician and nearly a musical philosopher inasmuch as his ideas are dense and open to the world, Nacho Arimany, himself is a sort of great percussion wizard who leans on very solid knowledge to deliver real musical journeys.” - LA ABEILLE MUSIQUE MAGAZINE (FRANCE)

Nacho Arimany's rich music career began at the age of six as a classical piano student and singer with RTVE Choir and National Orchestra of Spain. He has toured globally, and collaborated with artists from myriad musical traditions over the past 15 years. His debut Album Silence-Light, with his World-Flamenco Septet, including guitarist Lionel Loueke, was considered by All About Jazz one of the Top ten Jazz Albums of 2007, and has gained great reviews in France and Spain.

His performances as a flamenco percussionist have also been awarded and highly acclaimed in Spain and throughout Europe, alongside dancers Joaquin Cort's, Rafaela Carrasco, and Roc'o Molina, among others. In 2010 he premiered with success an original duet in the US with Flamenco dancer Rafaela Carrasco at New York City Center's Fall For Dance Festival.

Nacho Arimany currently lives in New York City where he teaches principles of Healing with Sound & Music at the New York Open Center Music Institute, and Flamenco percussion master classes at NYU Steinhardt and other Universities like U-Mass Lowell. He is recording and writing with artists such as Lizz Wright and Angelique Kidjo, and collaborating with La Mama experimental Theatre in one of their newest productions: Nacho Arimany-Landscapes of the Soul, a World-Jazz multimedia concert series created and directed by Arimany.
