Based in New York City, The Hevreh Ensemble performs original works by group member & composer Jeff Adler that combine Classical, Jazz and World Music elements. The works are often inspired by themes from Spirituality and Environmental Sustainability. The wide and varied instrumentation includes the innovative use of Native American Flutes along with Oboe, Oboe D'amore, English Horn, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Soprano Saxophone, World Percussion, Piano, Keyboard and Shofar.The use of the Native American Flute is an integral component in Hevreh Ensemble compositions. Composer Jeff Adler, writes for the Native American Flute using a contemporary style which combine  plaintive melancholy timbres along with driving rhythms. The Hevreh Ensemble has performed widely throughout North America and recently returned from an Eastern European Tour where they performed concerts in Poland and The Czech Republic.  The Hevreh Ensemble has also performed  at such places as: The National Yiddish Book Center, Amherst, The Hudson River Museum, Harlem School of the Srts, Northampton Center for the Arts, WNPR CT Public  Radio  and WAMC North East Public Radio among many others. They recently presented a concert for The Hofstra University Emily Lowe Art Gallery in conjunction with Holocaust Painter, Yonia Fain.Current concert projects include a West Coast Tour - California and Tours to France, Hungary, Germany & Israel.
