"When we all sing together that energy is singular to the moment. A composition in time."  - Monica Blaire
From Mozart to Mainstream, eclectic is the way to describe Monica Blaire. Classical, rock, soul, gospel, funk, hip hop, techno, pop playfully coexist. For Blaire, the audience is the performance and her voice is the vehicle.Writing since the age of 5 and singing since a baby, Monica's need to connect with the listener comes first. The goal is  to pull creativity from every corner of a venue, every person within it,and for every voice to be heard. As an artist, Monica has the ability to create a transformative musical environment one show at a time. She seizes the chance to be a truth seeker and create music that is honest. Monica Blaire is more than an artist. She is an experience.

As a 2010 Kresge Artist Fellow in the Performing Arts, Monica Blaire seeks diversity and flexibility in her projects and collaboraters. mB has worked with artists ranging from Roy Ayers, PPP, her own band the RackPack, Dwele, Black Milk, ZO!, and rocked historical venues including Joe's Pub (NY), The Shrine (CHI), and the DIA (DET). She is currently in an experiemental rock band Lola Valley, an eclectic spontaneous slumber party on stage. She is also working on a a video/performance project, a sophmore LP, and several other audio projects yet to be named and scheduled for release in 2013 and 2014. Monica Blaire is an advocate for community arts programming with a desire to explore how words, song, and sound come together. She continues to develop workshops and interactive perfromace pieces to educate, engage, and exchange with audiences worldwide.

Representing New York soul and diversity at its finest, Nele consists of Elle Pierre (vocals), Benny Reiner (drums/production), Jesse Bielenberg (bass), Colin Rahim Mokhtary (guitar), and features collaborator Francois "Frankie" Jeanty (keys). As experienced touring musicians, the members have performed on national stages, such as Highline Ballroom, Bowery Electric, Sullivan Hall, the Living Room, and Parisian stage Le China. Nele met organically on stage at famed hip hop jam "The Lesson" at Arlene's Grocery in New York's Lower East Side, with the exception of guitarist Colin, whom Elle later recruited after performing together at Ella Lounge.

Nele will debut their original electric rock soul sound on their EP this Fall.  Their first single "Arrow" exemplifies the group's positive message to overcome adversity through love and determination. Lead singer Elle Pierre drew from her cultural roots to choose the name "Nele," which means "spiritual healer" in the Kuna language indigenous to Panama and Colombia. "We want to make music that people can connect to and find peace in," Elle explains. "We want to heal through music."
