Jazzingaro combines the word Jazz and Zingaro(Gypsy) in Italian, and plays traditional Gyspy Jazz inspired by early Django Reinhardt recordings specifically from 1920's and 30's. The group plays gypsy swing, gypsy bossa, waltzes, and rhumbas popular to the gypsy jazz repertoire. Jazzingaro started in the summer of 2013 and has since grown to play at some of the classiest wine bars and speakeasies of manhattan and Brooklyn incorporating Italian inspired songs into the repertoire from the Neorealism era of Italian film. The music is exciting, virtuosic, elegant and dark, but most of all it swings with the authentic guitar rhythm known as “La Pompe" inspired by Django Reinhardt, which replaces the need for drums.

Featuring Charlie Castelluzzo, the founder and Itailan-inspired creator of Jazzingaro on guitar. Alex Simon, NYC native Gypsy Jazz guitar master and host of Bistro Fada's gypsy jazz jam, accordion virtuoso Albert Behar and blazing hot jazz violinist Ellie Goodman.

Tipsy Oxcart

Tipsy Oxcart plays electric, sweaty, bumpin’ Balkan music, channeling the spirit of 36 hour weddings to keep the crowds dancing until the sun comes up. Serving up originals and fresh, upbeat arrangements of urban dance tunes, the band deviously infuses the sounds of South-Eastern Europe with elements of jazz, funk, and more. Dig naughty violin solos, atomic accordion grooves, freak-me-out clarinet, and the baddest rhythm section this side of the Mediterranean. NY Music Daily warns, "If you’re not already among the converted, this music will leave you insatiable for more." A party with Tipsy Oxcart is guaranteed to shake the dance floor all night long!
