"6-piece jazz ensemble Carte Blanche keeps vintage standards white-hot with classic French, Latin and American jazz standards from the 1920s, 30s and 40s

Lead vocalist Cristina Kaminis gives the group a sound in the tradition of jazz greats Edith Piaf, Ella Fitzgerald, and Lola Beltran. But as effortlessly as Kaminis transitions from classics of chanson realiste-era Paris to Brazil’s sultry bossa novas, her native Mexico shines through on the bands Cuban son tracks, and the danceable, percussion-driven dance rhythms of vintage Colombian cumbia.

This Spring they are back in the studio, recording an EP of all original content to follow their existing albums.

"Perfectly vintage jazz ensemble Carte Blanche matches its jazzy chops with just-right silk and sequins." Time Out New York

"Carte Blanche lays down clean, lively twenties and thirties jazz with frequent forays into international territory: Edith Piaf and Latin American tunes from the same era pop up often on its set list" NY Magazine

“Listening to New York-based jazz ensemble Carte Blanche will make you feel like Owen Wilson’s character in Midnight in Paris after he stumbles back in time.” BizBash

“I love the look in the eyes of lead vocalist Cristina Kaminis” Editor-In-Chief, Michael McCarthy, D.C Magazine"

Miss Ida Blue

Brothel Blues boss, Miss Ida Blue, let's her raunchy and rawkus coos lead members of  Woody Allen's Jazz Band and HBO's Grammy winning Boardwalk Empire Orchestra.

born and bred deep in mill basin, brooklyn... long, lanky and shy, she eventually snuck her way to dark clubs and dives to sing her version of what’s true. easily capable of voicematching amy winehouse or ella fitzgerald, you’ll hear an urban mix of grinding city sass and whispered boop, backed by sounds of atlantic city’s boardwalk, southern coastal brass of new orleans, and gritty hot bands of  san francisco.

with a repertoire of turn-of-the-century whorehouse blues and a heavy nod to soul and gospel, miss ida spits stories dripping with sex, love, loss and no good men. she’s left nothing to the imagination and leaves everything on the bandstand. your girl will take you to a place that glistens with booze and sweat, offering secrets only her songs can pass on, and an explicit showing of how the blues can be audacious and adorned, loved and hurtful, raunchy and rawkus.
