New York Ataturk Chorus - Spring Concert

NEW YORK ATATURK CHORUS is back with this Spring Concert due to high demand since our early sold out concert in March.
The repertoire of this concert consists of classical Turkish and folk songs in various "makams' as well as contemporary songs from 80s and 90s.
Chorus preforms with a full orchestra presenting Clarinet, Oud, Kanoon, Piano, Violin, Tamburine and percussions where Clarinet, Oud , Kanoon and
Violin usually improvise in "Taksim" sections. Do not miss this unique opportunity to experience this authentic choral presentation that seldom goes
out of concert halls. Doors open at 6PM to accommodate your dine & wine plans.

About New York Atatürk Chorus
New York Atatürk Chorus was founded to promote Turkish Music in
2008. Founder Nedim Katgı is a graduate of Istanbul State
Conservatory who also was on the faculty of Istanbul Technical
University State Conservatory of Turkish Music in 1980’s. He has
toured in Turkey and in the U.S. extensively, collaborating with
musicians from all genres. Katgı has been training, coaching and
directing the chorus since its foundation. Under his direction, Atatürk
Chorus rehearses year-round on a regular basis.

Every year chorus welcomes new members with passion to music
and determination to advance vocal or instrumental skills. The
repertoires designed by Nedim Katgı and performed by Atatürk
Chorus include select pieces from a variety of Classical,
Contemporary, Folk and Popular Turkish Music. Besides its
concerts in New York City, Atatürk Chorus also performs on national
holidays and commemorations on occasion.

As the community chorus for Turkish American New Yorkers, Atatürk
Chorus has performed, by invitation; throughout the Northeast states
such as Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey and at Yale
University, Rutgers University, Hunter College of the City University
of NY and SUNY New Paltz campuses as well.
