CEG Presents Connor Reed

Connor Reed Crank grew up listening to the smooth, classic vocals of artists such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Dean Martin.  Something about that big band swing sound was so fascinating that it resonated with him at a young age, so it’s no wonder that his first single, “Looking For,” is reminiscent of that era.  Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Reed made the move up north to work on his debut album, "Looking For," with composer Michelangelo Sosnowitz in New York City.  The album ranges from jazz to pop and a little in between, providing the listener with a variety of flavors to choose from.  He will begin perfoming live this February 2016!

Reed first began performing at the age of 12, when his mother made him audition for the sixth grade musical.  Belting out an operatic version of “Happy Birthday” in his ‘Pavarotti’ voice (with a hint of Kermit the Frog) earned him a small role in his first play.  He was hooked.  Ever since, music and the arts have played a major role in his life.  Reed’s father passed away when he was ten years old, allowing for an even stronger relationship with his mother.  His song, “Mama,” on his upcoming album presents an unexpected juxtaposition between his mother’s struggle raising three children on her own and an upbeat, tap-your-toes, southern dixieland jazz composition acknowledging her Louisiana roots – “Mama’s like a ragdoll up too early in the morn.”

With the album release quickly approaching, Reed is excited to share his music with all of you and continue doing what he loves – creating music.
