Tatev & Soundsketch


is Tatev’s musical ensemble formed in 2012. The unique union of jazz, Armenian and classical 

influences in addition to varied origins of instruments in this ensemble, offer innumerable audio 

palates for the listener. Many of Tatev’s pieces or scores for Soundsketch are written to ornate 

and strengthen the visual experience of animations, films and cartoons.

Tatev was born in Armenia on July 7th 1987 to artists family. She quickly showed a great 

interest for music and began formal classical lessons in both voice and piano at the age 

of six. Childhood and continues fascination with haunting and magical fairy tales of 

different nations, cartoons and animations continue to be a big part of Tatev’s musical 

inspiration. Tatev has composed scores for two short films and  three animations and 

has performed in numerous venues individually as well as with Soundsketch . 

Tatev moved to the United States in 2003 after achieving much recognition in 

Armenia. She is a scholarship graduate of 2009 Jazz Studies at William Paterson 

University and 2006 NJPAC’s Jazz for Teens program.

Tatev is a performer, a composer for films and animations, and an art 

entrepreneur who connects and realizes common visions of creative minds.
