CEG Presents
Flux Capacitor, Tigerman, The Phryg and You Bred Raptors?

Flux Capacitor

Emerging from the Pennsylvania music scene, from the outskirts of the City of Brotherly Love, is the phenom band known as Flux Capacitor. Their fiery, distinct sound has catapulted the group with lightning speed into the National Music Scene. This band of brothers consistently inspire and evoke a new and wildly addicting sound resonating with elements of rock, improvisation, and electronica.

They redefine musicality with positive prophetic vocals, complex guitar work, innovative keys/synths/bass stylings, with feverish syncopated drum rhythms. Performances at every show dubbed "Encounters" are filled with improvisation, musical segues, spontaneous covers and teases, creating a one-of-a-kind experience. The brothers are clearly devoted to current affairs, the future of the world, their craft, and their fans. Their intense playing feels almost effortless and is charged by a higher power.

Their electric vibe transcends the stage and extends into the crowd creating a magical musical ambiance of jamming on tribal proportions. Flux has adopted a freer stylistic element of music that embraces and engages their audiences.

Tigerman is a highly improvised, mostly instrumental product of the diverse musical backgrounds of its members who met while studying music at William Paterson University. Tigerman's sound blends elements of funk, jazz, rock, and the bizarre into a unique blend of groovy jams and epic aural journeys.

The Phryg

Straight out of the musical chaos of New York arises a power trio that bridges old school funk to it's future. That band is called The Phryg, (pronounced the same as "fridge"). Although the band is new, the members have deep roots in the community with musical degrees from Manhattan School of Music and Queens College.

You Bred Raptors?

We are a three piece instrumental busking band out of New York City. Our songs are crafted with 8-string bass, cello, drums and two glockenspiels. The compositions have a heavy, post-rock, experimental, film score-like sound. Through tireless performance in the NYC subways with the Music Under New York program (MUNY), we are dedicated to reaching every demographic possible. Because the majority of our CDs are sold in the subway, our music is all over the globe and we have dedicated fans in dozens of countries. In some of the locations we play, hundreds of thousands of people will pass through the turnstiles every hour. As a band, we have played over 350 shows in the subway alone.

In addition to busking, we thrive in a variety of artistic mediums: We have worked as a pit orchestra for a NYC theater group, and we have been commissioned to score the upcoming feature film from TROMA Pictures, as well as 6 independent films produced by PVAF Films throughout 2014 – 2015.
