The Dayz

The Dayz is a New York-based collective of musicians dedicated to writing, recording and performing powerful, evocative, artful rock music. The eight-piece band, led by singer-songwriter Dax Callner, mixes an effortless blend of rock, blues and soul. Adorned with Callner’s soaring vocals on top of impassioned guitars and driving drums, the band also mixes in Bruce Springsteen-style saxophone flourishes and full-on solos that help characterize its earnest sound.

The Dayz is comprised of members Dax Callner (vocals/guitars), Aaron Green (bass), Alix Briard (vocals), Richie Phillips (saxophone), Terry Shook (drums), Alroy Teves (guitars) Michael Villarosa (keyboards) and Dave Kahler (guitars). The Dayz’ inspirations range from Elvis Costello and David Bowie to contemporary artists like Arcade Fire and Muse.

The band’s intense passion for its music is apparent, beaming throughout every track. Callner explains, “The band is totally obsessed with the craft of songwriting. Every song we play is worked and beaten up until it surrenders. Our goal is to get under your skin, surprise you, make you feel something.”
